Jelani Eddington Will Re-Dedicate Organ at Trenton War Memorial
on February 24, 2002
HOBOKEN, NJ – RJE Productions is pleased to announce that
on Sunday, February 24, 2002 at 3:00 P.M., Jelani Eddington will perform
the re-dedication concert for the 3-manual 16-rank Möller theatre pipe organ
located at the Trenton War Memorial
in Trenton, New Jersey.
Although the Moller has resided in Trenton for approximately
50 years, its original home was the Lincoln Theatre, located a short distance
from the War Memorial. In the 1970s, when concerns arose about the future of the
Lincoln Theatre, the Garden State Theatre Organ Society secured a new home for
the instrument in the War Memorial. In February 1976, theatre organ legend
Ashley Miller presented the opening concert to a standing- room-only crowd of
approximately 2,000 attendees.
The re-dedication concert on February 24th will mark the
first time the organ has performed publicly for many years, as the War Memorial,
as well as the Moller theatre pipe organ, have undergone substantial renovation
and restoration efforts.
