Recorded live at the now-legendary “Rialtofest” concert on April 28, 2001, this 2-CD set features over two hours of exciting music, showcasing Jelani Eddington and numerous other world-renowned organists. In addition to his solo performances on the organ and piano, Jelani appears at the piano in a duet with theatre organist Ron Rhode in a spellbinding arrangement of Deep Purple.
In addition to Jelani’s performance, other world-renowned organists featured on this recording include Peter Conte, John Giacchi, Ron Rhode, Rob Richards, and Dave Wickerham. The DePaul University Wind Ensemble also joins the organists at the conclusion of the program for spectacular arrangements of The Washington Post March and The Stars And Stripes Forever.
The instruments featured in the recording of the fifth annual Rialtofest include the 4-manual 27-rank Grande Barton theatre pipe organ, a 4-manual Walker digital theatre organ, a 3-manual Walker digital classical organ, a 9-foot Petroff grand piano. As an added bonus, this recording features two selections from the August 29, 2001 concerts by Dave Wickerham and Peter Conte at the 5-manual 80-rank Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ at the Sanfilippo residence in Barrington, Illinois.
